The American Conservative » How Whitey Bulger Bought Boston:

"With the rope tight enough to terrify the victim without rendering her unconscious, the assailants turned off the grinder and began asking the terrified woman about her work as a cashier at the Miami “fronton” (or arena) of World Jai Alai, an exotic Iberian sport that had been controlled by Bostonians since the 1920s. A few months earlier, World Jai Alai had been sold to a new owner, and Boston’s Winter Hill mob—led by James “Whitey” Bulger—wanted to know if the new owners had discovered the mob’s skimming operation."

John Harrigan: Dead cougar and mystery on I-93 | New Hampshire OPINION02:

"In 2004, right after the first weekend of muzzleloading season, he left a friend's hunting camp in Pittsburg, stopped to check his own vacation place in Bethlehem, and was heading down the pike when he came upon a police cruiser and a dead animal at the New Hampton town line. The car was pulled off into the dirt. The animal was stretched across the breakdown and travel lanes. “I instantly realized that it was a cougar,” Paul said."

Power plants work to block Northern Pass | Hartford Business

Power plants work to block Northern Pass | Hartford Business:

"Rappaport proposed legislation that would have prevented utility companies from using eminent domain when installing non-reliability-based transmission lines, such as the Northern Pass project. That legislation passed the New Hampshire House of Representatives but was tabled by the state Senate. Still, Rappaport is working on four more bills that would block Northern Pass in New Hampshire.

While Rappaport’s base is residents concerned about having a transmission line ruin their views and their property values, he’s also received support from various power plants that oppose Northern Pass. The state’s four biomass plants in Bethlehem, Tamworth, Alexandria and Bridgeport, which employ 120 total workers, worked to pass Rappaport’s legislation."

"Restoring the rule of law and getting the federal government out of the personal lives of Americans will be a tonic to a country that has been ailing for far too long, but it all must start with rejecting interventionism. That is the key."

"Harned added that the judges seemed very knowledgeable about the law - particularly the fact that the mandate seeks to get everyone to pay their fair share for healthcare that hospitals are required by law to provide to people without insurance.

EconomicPolicyJournal.com: Serious Mob Attacks in Downtown Chicago:

"Lyndon Baines Johnson's Great Society experiment is in full bloom and it is downright ugly. LBJ's attempt to coddle the lower classes with free money for going fatherless and even more money for mother's having more children, without husbands around, has perhaps reached the third generation of such fatherless, uncontrollable youth. The experiment has resulted in roaming bands of criminals."

Mitt Romney: No apologies on climate change stance - Darren Samuelsohn - POLITICO.com:

"Conservatives trying to digest Romney's evolving views on climate change are not very pleased with what they've heard over the years.

'All that does is tell me he's the wrong guy for the presidency, anyone who'd change his philosophy in accordance with where the votes are,' Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.)"

Mitt Romney should have run for another term as governor in Mass. It was a more natural fit.
