We are sponsoring this bill to call TSA screening of this nature what it is: sexual assault. It is true, we as the state of New Hampshire don’t have the liberty to tell the TSA how to do its job at our airports. That is a federal issue. However, we as a state can tell the TSA what it cannot do, and we can enforce penalties when agents violate our state laws.

Remember, the TSA is not enforcing federal law. It is only enforcing an unconstitutional agency policy. We can tell them to stop. In reality, there is nothing the TSA can do to stop us from putting one of their agents’ names on our sex offender registry. And thus, we chose this approach because it is the only thing we can do to send the message to Washington that the abuses of the TSA have got to stop, and they have to stop now.

The six inns are Adair Country Inn & Restaurant and Bear Mountain Lodge in Bethlehem, N.H., Franconia Inn and Lovetts Inn in Franconia, and Sugar Hill Inn and Sunset Hill House in Sugar Hill. The area is great for hiking around Mount Washington or downhill and cross-country skiing at Bretton Woods, Loon Mountain or Cannon Mountain.

To get a jump on holiday giving, I went to Bethlehem. I didn’t have enough air miles to fly to the Bethlehem near Jerusalem, so I drove up to Bethlehem, New Hampshire.

It may not be the cradle of biblical history, but this New England Bethlehem has its own Christmas cradle of kitsch, quirkiness, and some Hanukkah devotees, too, I discovered.

A town marker informs, “Bethlehem is the highest elevated town East of the Rockies.” And it was incorporated on Christmas Day, 1799. What could be more Christmas-like?
