MacDonald's account is from August 1879 and tells of his excursion into the Zealand area with legendary guide Allen Thompson of Bethlehem. This account first appeared in the White Mountain Echo and Tourist's Register — a summer newspaper published in Bethlehem — and describes a multi-day camping trip that included visits to landmarks known today as Zealand Pond, Thoreau Falls and Ethan Pond.

Commentary: World divides into ice-cold and red-hot economies
By Andy Xie; Caixin Online
Let me write the conclusions first: Inflation, not deflation, will dominate the global economy. The deflation scare causes the central banks in the developed economies to sustain a loose monetary policy. It will fuel inflation in emerging economies. Through trade, currency markets, and ultimately inflationary expectations, inflation will hit developed economies.
