"Niles led the convention in 1886 to establish St. Mary's School for Young Ladies in the building on Fayette Street. In 1936 the school was moved to Bethlehem, where, three years later, it was registered as "St. Mary's-In-The-Mountains." Following a fire in 1965, the school became co-educational and was renamed "The White Mountain School.""
