By early evening, we had arrived at the Adair Inn, Bethlehem, N.H., which was going to be our base of operation for two nights. The plan was to capitalize on this great location and day-trip out while allowing sufficient time for long strolls and hikes in the late afternoon on the grounds of this extraordinary New England bed and breakfast.
